At The Floor Barn Ltd we want our customers to love the floor they choose whether its a herringbone lvt, a carpet or other hard floors to a new stunning rug.
Sarah met Mr and Mrs Brown in the store earlier this year. The customers wanted to make their house a home and so came to view a few of the new karndean ranges. The customers had recently moved and they had inherited a karndean floor which was dated. (You can see the old flooring pictures below).
They had seen a few different grey herringbones, however Sarah suggested viewing the Art Select, for colour choice and the size of the art select is 9″ x 3″, a good size for trasitioning throughout multiple rooms. Once they saw the Storm Oak Herringbone Lvt in the Art Select they knew this was the floor for them.

The first day was preparation day. The fitting team needed to uplift and dispose of old flooring. Once the old floors were removed they could investigate the subfloor. We want our floors to last a long time and we as a Team understand that the floor installed is only as good as the preparation work.
The fitters found a few issues with the subfloor meaning that extensive preperation work was needed. This was due to hall entrance subfloor where they found raised brickwork half inch higher than rest of subfloor. The also found under the wood at side was just large voids.
The voids were not filled in correctly instead bricks that had been broken down with breakers had been put into the voids. So our fitting team had to correct this by doing the following.
The team filled the voids with new timbers securing them to the joists. The team then had to ground down all the old tile adhesive with industrial grinders. Once this part of the prep was complete the rapid mortar repair work started.
Once the mortar repair was complete the chemical dpm was put down. Leading onto the installation of the new subfloor ply and screeded to create a level of smooth transition.
This expert flooring team work extremely hard to repair and put right the problems with the exisiting subfloor before any standard preparation could begin.
All preparation work done – it was time to finally start installaing the new floor. creating a modern parquet look with the ashy grey tones of Storm Oak. The floor features a handscraped emboss that gives an authentic look without the difficult upkeep, it’s the perfect style to add character to this space.
Truly amazed at the effort and skill our Fitting Team have given to make this stunning, gorgoeus transformation. I personally think our customers will be blown away by the finished result.
