In our recent flooring project, we embarked on a transformative journey to revamp the floors of a living space by replacing the outdated floor coverings. As we began the task, our team of experienced fitters uncovered layers of the home’s history.
Below you will find a more detailed account, spanning over three photographs highlighting the uplifting of the old flooring systems. Initially, the images capture the removal of the worn laminate tile floor. The laminate had seen better days, and it was time for it to go, making way for the fresh and contemporary choice the homeowner longed for.
As the laminate tiles were carefully uplifted, a hidden layer was found – a sheet vinyl flooring that had been concealed beneath for years. The vinyl, once a modern and practical solution was also uplifted by our diligent fitters.
With both the laminate and the vinyl removed, the subfloor was thoroughly prepared—swept clean of debris and history—to welcome the new flooring. The final photographs would tell the story of transformation, showcasing the installed sleek, new flooring, which promised durability and style to suit the current homeowner’s tastes. This graduation from the old to the new not only refreshed the space but also symbolized a renewal of the home’s character.
Installation of Quick-Step Majestic – MJ3551
Each pack of the Quick-Step Majestic Desert Oak Warm Natural MJ3551 will cover an area up to 2.952 square metres. This makes it one of Quick-Steps best value laminates. Each plank measures 2050mm long, 240mm wide and 9.5mm thick. It’s AC4 grade, which means you can install it in domestic and moderate commercial environments. There are 4 genuine Bevel grooves included on each plank, colour matched to the floor below for a great aesthetically pleasing finish.
Thanks to the floor’s water-resistant design, it can be installed in high-moisture environments such as bathrooms and washrooms. It’s been given a unique Hydroseal coating which prevents water from penetrating into the floor. This also helps to protect it against spills and stains, making it an ideal choice for homes with pets and children.
As well as being water resistant, the floor comes with Scratchguard technology. This really adds to its durability, protecting the surface from micro scratches as well as everyday scuffs and wear and tear.
It’s possible to install the Quick-Step Majestic Desert Oak Warm Natural MJ3551 with underfloor heating. Most systems should be compatible, though we do recommend checking with the manufacturer’s guidelines prior to installation. Adding underfloor heating will really help to boost the floor’s warmth and comfort throughout the colder months.
